Prediction Markets - Damien Acheson, Rodrigo Mazzilli, Luis Prata (c) 2007

Also known as information markets, prediction markets are set to radically improve public and private sector productivity.

After providing a background on the theoretical and practical mechanics of predictive markets, our study focuses on their decision-making potential. We also examine the mechanism through an economics of information perspective. We compare use cases such as HP BRAIN, HedgeStreet, NewsFutures and Inkling Markets. The study also looks into the future of prediction markets and their associated technical, commercial and organizational challenges.
